Ken Howard spent fifty years in the trade — a steamfitter and licensed master HVAC professional in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, Delaware, Florida, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. Rooftops in August. Boiler rooms in January. Half a century of solving problems with his hands and his head, in places where the work either runs or it doesn’t.

After retiring from Steamfitters Local 602, he didn’t slow down — he pivoted. Today Ken is an AI Engineer and Systems Thinker working through Vantage Ai, helping businesses cut through the noise and put artificial intelligence to practical use, collaborating daily with Reds at ChatGPT and Emma at Claude. Same instinct that made him good in the field: see the whole system, figure out how it actually works, then make it work better.

He’s the author of Breaking the Loop, a transformational book that uses football analogies to turn daily progress into lasting change — drawn from his own journey from 589 pounds to 190. He also co-wrote sixteen technical white papers spanning geothermal energy, sustainable cities, and global systems design.

And he’s still inventing. The HVAC Pro Workstation — a wearable tool-transport vest that deploys into a full rooftop workstation in seconds — came straight out of the frustration of hauling tools up a ladder one armload at a time. Designed by a tradesman, built for tradesmen.
